EXCLUSIVE: The last two years saw the quiet development of Monster Hunter from Resident Evil franchise duo Paul W.S. Anderson and producing partner Jeremy Bolt. The adaptation of the hit 2004 video game IP is now finally taking shape with word that actor and martial artist Tony Jaa will play The Hunter, joining the casting line-up announced earlier this evening at The Hollywood Reporter. For every Monster, there is a Hero. An ordinary man in a dead end job discovers that he is actually the descendant of an ancient hero. He must travel to a mystical world to train to become a Monster Hunter, before the mythical creatures from that world destroy ours. OUTLAWED: Adam Collins’ Thriller Debut Now Available For Pre-Order In The U.S.

Wearing his experience proudly on and off the battlefield is actor and filmmaker Adam Collins with his feature debut, Outlawed. Vision Films has officially rollout pre-orders for the new action thriller on VOD and DVD helmed by Collins, a former Royal Marines Commando, and co-director Luke Radford, with a portion of the proceeds to be allocated to Combat Stress to support veterans affected by conflicts overseas. It looks like things are slowing down a little on the interwebs regarding shortfilms. I’ll do my best to scavenge for these gems as much as possible, though I am looking forward to taking another break (which probably won’t be one anyway since I’ll likely be using it to write ? …the cycle never ends). THE WILD BUNCH Lands Mel Gibson To Helm The Remake Of The Sam Peckinpah Classic

The official trailer at the bottom of the page should give you a glimpse into what Mel Gibson now has his hands on according to Mike Fleming Jr.’s exclusive at Deadline. Indeed, he will executive produce and direct a remake of Sam Peckinpah’s 1969 American Western epic, The Wild Bunch, which he will also write with screenwriter Bryan Bagby. The original film penned by Peckinpah and co-scribe Walon Green hit the marquee in its heyday as a controversially violent film. To date, it is considered a stylishly memorable classic among many that not only set the gold standard for much of Hollywood action cinema in the decades that followed, and directors therein. The film now sits at home at American Film Institute among 100 greatest American Films of all time, as well as in the Library of Congress National Film Registry. GANGOOSE: Underdogs Bite Back In The Official Trailer

Looking at the official trailer for Irie Yu’s new crime romp, Gangoose, I sort of got the feeling this was another manga adaptation from the music, tone and character design. As such, a brief stint on google confirmed this and I found my instinct on this bit of news a little hilarious. As you’re reading this, I was still a little giggly from it. As for the source material, the Joker Game and Vigilante helmer erects an adaptation about a trio of delinquents who decide to fight crime with their own brand of crime. That trio is comprised of Kato Ryo, Takasugi Mahiro and Watanabe Daichi, rivaling recording artist Miyavi of Bleach fame here in his second stint on the big screen as the villain. Travis Knight’s BUMBLEBEE Looks Like The Transformers Movie Fans Have Been Waiting For

Stop-motion virtuoso Travis Knight may not have gotten the audience he deserved for his freshman debut, Kubo And The Two Strings. His latest stint at the helm for Paramount’s latest Hasbro work-around with Transformers prequel take, Bumblebee, however, may bode as a worthy rebound for the director in wake of its tease on Sunday. The official trailer that arrived thereafter is now here for the taking, and you can’t deny it’s got some appeal to it. FOXTROT SIX: Meet The Squad In New Character Posters

All eyes were on Popcon ASIA in Indonesia a few days ago as promotional bits ran for Randy Korompis’ roaring new sci-fi thriller, Foxtrot Six. A 2019 release date is in tow for Mario Kassar-produced directorial debut from Korompis and so as to keep patient fans attentive, six new character posters have arrived. Foxtrot Six is set in a dystopian Earth where food is scarce and Indonesia becomes ground zero for the fight for natural resources. Apart from this, all continues to be unknown about the story in relation to the very cast of characters we’re introduced to in the following artwork and with any luck we’ll learn more soon enough. Marvel Adds Chloe Zhao To Direct THE ETERNALS

Marvel is far from done with its big screen affairs, having advanced their next phase of the MCU going forward. Adding The Eternals to its roster, Chloe Zhao has been attached to direct. From Variety: Created by Jack Kirby, the story of “The Eternals” is set millions of years ago when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered individuals as well as more villainous off-shoots known as the Deviants. The two groups went on to battle each other throughout history to see which would eventually become the ultimate race. Zhao previously directed Sony Pictures release, The Rider, which became an award-winning feat at Cannes last year.
