September 7 is the official release date for the new action drama, The Blizzard. An updated short trailer is online as well as a few new poster bits for Jiang Kaiyang’s new film. Liu Haiyang witnessed his best fellow at Police College, Song Chao, escaping away while his father is dying in the blood. Considered as the murderer, Song absconded from Harbin to Hainan. Three years later, Liu and Song come across with gun and bullets. Taking revenge on Song for his father’s murder, Liu also discovers a confidential affair between his wife and Song… but none of Liu and Song realizes they have been shrouded in a mist of conspiracy from the very first. MULAN: Liu Yi-Fei Strikes In The First Official Photo Signaling Production
Dropping a nice little jewel online, the first official look at actress Liu Yi-Fei in the title iteration of Mulan arrived via Twitter on Monday. The photo signals the official launch of production from Disney with Whale Rider and McFarland, USA helmer Niki Caro directing. Actress Liu, whose preceding credits also include The Forbidden Kingdom, Outcast, The Four trilogy and Once Upon A Time, revives the fandom stemming from an ancient folkloric tale of a young Chinese maiden who masquerades as a male soldier in order to save her father. Disney rolled out two animated films both in 1998 with the Oscar nominated Mulan, and as a DTV release in 2004 while actress Zhao Wei took the mantle for a mainland production in China under director Jingle Ma in 2009. BANDO: ‘Train To Busan’ Sequel Officially In The Works
Award-winning Train To Busan director Yeon Sang-Ho is far from finished with the apocalyptic zombieverse he initiated in 2016. Jean Noh’s Monday report at Screendaily is just the latest bit of confirmation we’re getting on the acclaimed Train To Busan helmer’s efforts toward a sequel, two years since garnering festival praise and box office approval in South Korea and through Asia. That same year also saw updates of Gaumont’s own acquisition of the film for a possible English-language remake. ZOMBIEPURA Wakes The Dead In The First Teaser
Here’s some trivia for you: Shortfilm director Jacen Tan once felt like a zombie roughly eight years ago while on guard for National Service. Since then and with the backing of mm2 Entertainment, Tan’s appeal to undead horror comedy with Zombiepura should make for a rewarding feature debut at the helm. Corporal Kayu is a lazy soldier doing guard duty during his mandatory reservist in an isolated army camp. A mysterious virus breaks out and turns his campmates into rabid zombies. Trapped together, Kayu must team up with his arch-rival, the tough Sergeant Lee to survive. Cut off from the outside world, their military training is put to the test and they must find out what it means to be real soldiers. Zombiepura is due out in Singapore later this year starring Alaric Tay with actor Benjamin Heng among the cast.

At long last, the latest ceremonial reunion of stars – here from the Young And Dangerous franchise – now brings us back to the fold with director Chin Kar-Lok’s newest heist adventure, Golden Job. The first official teaser trailer came Thursday, staking claim with stylish and well-executed action to inaugurate the tale of an ex-mercenary who rejoins his team of thieves to get even after being double-crossed by one of their own a year earlier. Things are brewing slowly for stuntman and coordinator Ben Bray whose feature directing debut, El Chicano, is currently on par for an in-competition premiere in the La Muse section of the L.A. Fish-out-of-water spy action comedy, The Rookies, is gearing up for a December 21 release, and with Resident Evil franchise star Milla Jovovich taking point. Heralded Hollywood exec producer Mario Kassar’s recent exploits in Southeast Asia are no longer a visual mystery with the first teaser footage now running for forthcoming sci-fi action thriller, Foxtrot Six.
