Well Go USA Dates Crime Actioner BELIEVER And Arm-Wrestling Drama CHAMPION

Just shy of an actual release date, Well Go USA sparked the interest of their consumer base with a U.S. trailer for upcoming action crime thriller, Believer. Since then, the company’s official website has now bestowed a June 8 release to follow the film’s South Korean release on May 24. Believer stems from Johnnie To’s 2012 smash hit, Drug War, this time with Lee Hae-Young at the helm for the story of a low-level drug dealer forced to comply with a dangerously ambitious cop to take down a powerful kingpin. Casting further continues for the current production of Ip Man 4 this week as actor Chris Collins has joined the cast. Character details are unknown whilst following suit with fellow Wolf Warrior co-star, actor and martial arts star Scott Adkins who signaled his addition to the film once again starring martial arts action star Donnie Yen. Produced by Raymond Wong from a script by Edmund Wong, the folkloric period martial arts drama sequel inspired by the life and legend of the late Wing Chun Grandmaster now sees him traveling stateside to the U.S. where his Wing Chun protégé, Bruce Lee, has begun challenging the norms of not allowing Westerners to learn martial arts. It was in 2015 that Sato Keiichi’s 2011 hit anime/manga property, Tiger & Bunny, made waves at New York Comic-Con hailing the development of a film adaptation with Ron Howard listed among a raft of producers. Now it appears the wheels are turning as a new announcement has been made courtesy of Lynn Harris, Global Road Entertainment’s president of worldwide production for the production and distribution of the new film to be scripted by Ellen Shanman. Jeremy Kay is at Screen International reporting that action star, actor Sylvester Stallone is set to commense principal photography this Fall on the long-teased and anticipated installment of a fifth Rambo film. The news comes four years after progress was made for a 2014 start which followed up with more stagnation, and eventually word of an impasse in 2017 between Stallone and producer Avi Lener regarding the actor’s wish to produce a fourth Expendables film. The new footage was exclusively covered at EW which cites lead actor Trevor Jackson’s take on the vision of the film re: it’s relocation to the bustling, culturally reflective city of Atlanta, Gerogia, in addition to the action and stunt work in which Jackson did the brunt of his own stuntwork. Borys Kit over at The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive update officially announcing James Avery and J.J. Abrams for what’s been described as none other than a subversive take on the superhero genre. The Heavy is the name and sounds like an original, inviting concept on which Abrams will produce with Avery at the helm. News of the film comes following last week’s festive appeal to attendees during Paramount’s panel at CinemaCon in Vegas for the Son Of A Gun director’s latest period WWII horror sci-fi, Overlord. That film, penned by Billy Ray and Mark L. Smith and telling of American paratroopers on D-Day who discover Nazis’ hidden experiments with the undead, opens on October 26.

I have lived through at least three feature-length adaptations of the classic medieval hero Robin Hood – the most memorable version to date being Kevin Reynolds’ signature 1991 Kevin Costner starrer. I watched it religiously when I was younger and with Alan Rickman stealing the show through and through as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Sans Men In Tights, Ridley Scott followed suit with his own offering in 2010 with Russell Crowe which I sort of barely remember, to be honest. The first two episodes are now available and serve as a delightful, high-energy invitation to explore the follow-up story that otherwise re-energizes the fanfare in a tasteful, fun fashion with actor William Zabka leading the charge this time opposite Ralph Macchio. Currently joining the roster for Raven Banner’s arrival to the croisette is Lowell Dean’s latest, SuperGrid. An official trailer went live this week courtesy of ScreenAnarchy hailing the director of Wolfcop and Another Wolfcop with the star of both titles, actor Leo Farfard, headlining the new dystopian thriller. From the creators of WolfCop, producer Hugh Patterson has teamed up with Trinni Franke and director Lowell Dean, (WolfCop, Another WolfCop) on the story of two estranged brothers who must travel the notorious “Grid” in their quest to collect and deliver a mysterious cargo. En route they must contend with road pirates, rebel gangs, and each other. SuperGrid also stars Marshall Williams, Natalie Krill, Jonathan Cherry, Tinsel Korey, Fei Ren, Amy Matysio, Daniel Maslany, and former WWE wrestler Jay Reso.
