Manga author Yama Wayama’s 2020 Beam Comics/KADOKAWA publication is now in the hands of distributor Kadokawa for the upcoming January release of live-action comedy adaptation, Let’s Go Karaoke!. Nobuhiro Yamashita directs a cast featuring Go Ayano and Jun Saito, from a script by Akiko Nogi. In Let’s Go Karaoke!, the story centers on Satomi Oka (Saito) a middle schooler petrified for his upcoming choir competition. He soon finds himself in an oddball partnership, giving one-on-one lessons to Kyoji Narita (Ayano), a fearless gangster desperate to win his boss’s karaoke singing competition to avoid a terrifying prospect: a tattoo to be selected and torturously applied by the boss himself. THE CROW: Lionsgate Picks Up Revenge Thriller Reboot Starring Bill Skarsgård Out Of Toronto

Lionsgate has acquired the newest reboot effort from director Rupert Sanders (Ghost In The Shell) with The Crow, featuring Bill Skarsgård (John Wick: Chapter 4) in the lead role. Danny Huston (Marlowe) and critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter FKA twigs (Honeyboy) also star in the Prague-shot film along with Laura Birn (Foundation), Sami Bouajila (A Son), and Jordan Bolger (The Woman King). WAR ON TERROR: KL ANARKI Official Trailer Unleashes The Mayhem

War On Terror: KL Anarki marks the latest in Malaysian action this time from co-helmers Kroll Azry (“KL Gangster: Underworld”) and Frank See (Air Force: The Movie – Selagi Bernyawa). The film stars Aedy Ashraf, Farali Khan, Qi Razali, Daiyan Trisha, and Noki K. Clique, and opens in cinemas locally on November 23. Khalid, a rebellious cop from an elite special force must prove he is able to work as a team in order to thwart terrorist threats to bring down Kuala Lumpur. Perhaps of import is See’s own experience working on big scale sets with demanding levels of tactical action and prep as marine and military advisor and coordinator (see Paskal, The Battle at Lake Changjin, The Rescue and Operation Red Sea). As appealing as Malaysian action cinema has been and continues to be, I’d say a production like this is a good step up. Take a look!

The bolstering of Korean content proves to be a continual winner for Netflix with Lee Chung-hyun’s new movie, Ballerina, par for the course. RAGE OF STARS: Learn More About Lukasz Rog’s Upcoming Polish Sci-Fi Action Flick

Principal photography is just about finished on Lukasz Rog’s Polish action sci-fi production, Rage Of Stars. The English-language film marks Rog’s feature debut out of his Rzesow-based Lukra Films. Plot details are pending on Rage of Stars while the project is described as a feature-length expansion of a proof-of-concept Rog directed in 2021 titled “No Stars Anymore” – about a secret service agent battling with premonitions hinting at mankind’s impending extinction.
