Lau Ho-Heung has been a writer for close to twenty years now, having worked with the likes of Teddy Chan and Johnnie To to name a few. Now, with only a few directing credits under his belt, his second and latest feature offering may yet finally arrive with the November release of Caught In Time, joining Daniel Wu with actors Wang Qianyuan and Michelle Wai.

The otherwise heartbreaking announcement stemming from last weekend’s cancellation of AMC’s Into The Badlands still adds on hope for a steady and fitting conclusion. The official series finale trailer is online and gearing fans up with what looks to be a spectacular bookend culminating three seasons of harrowing adventure, supernatural mystery, political peril and exhilirating kung fu action.
Word may have gotten around earlier on but the trades are now officially reporting the cancellation of AMC’s hit series, Into The Bandlands.
INTO THE BADLANDS: Don’t Miss The Official Trailer For Season Three Of The Hit Martial Arts Action Series
AMC’s hit television series, Into The Badlands, scored an epic follow-up last year with its second season, layered in tragedy and revelations that now shape forthcoming events that await for season three. Daniel Wu is back to lead the cast in prime fashion along with Aramis Knight for its April 22 premiere at 10:00 p.m. EST/PST, and the official trailer has finally arrived unleashing the usual onslaught of storied survival, deception, consequential upheaval and the cream filling of it all: chock-filled martial arts action madness!
Granted, if you haven’t seen the second season, you can catch seasons one and two on Netflix or where ever it is sold on digital or DVD. Season three once again sees Wu in the role of Sunny, rejoined by Bajie forced to journey back into the Badlands to save his son Henry after contracting a mysterious illness. When he arrives, new twists of fate will see him reconvening with The Widow, as will old enemies, to take out a looming threat in the form of a nomadic leader wishing to usher in a new era of “peace”.
Emily Beachem, Nick Frost, Eleanor Matsuura, Ally Ioannides, Stephen Lang, Orla Brady, Sherman Augustus all reprise their roles with new additions in Babou Ceesay, Lorraine Toussaint, Ella-Rae Smith, Lewis Tan and Dean-Charles Chapman.
The official trailer arrived over the weekend. Take a look if you fancy it!
Personally, I think the reactions emerging so soon could do for some furthet waiting. In the meantime, the movie officially opens on March 16, 2018 and with plenty of time between now and then, IGN is hosting a live stream around 1:00am EST with the actress in which they will also broadcast the first official teaser trailer to kick it all off. Also starring are Into The Badlands series star Daniel Wu along with actors Dominic West and Walton Goggins.
Following their announcement of Dante Lam’s 2016 hit film, Operation Mekong, U.S. distributor Well Go USA is also announcing their presentation of Ringo Lam’s latest, Sky On Fire. This one had its share of mixed reactions upon its release last November but still bodes as a fan favorite for those keen on actor Daniel Wu who leads the film on top of his current momentum on the small screen.
The official artwork can be seen below as well as the announcement. Watch this space for pre-order information.
Legendary filmmaker Ringo Lam (City on Fire, Full Alert) returns to his Hong Kong roots with SKY ON FIRE, the explosive crime drama packed with high-speed car chases, dramatic plot twists and fiery gunfights. The film also marks Daniel Wu’s return to Asian cinema following his stateside success on the TV series “Into the Badlands” and the international blockbuster Warcraft: The Beginning. Wu plays a security officer who becomes embroiled in an epic battle to protect stem cell research, which can potentially cure cancer, from falling into the wrong hands. Also starring Zhang Ruoyun in his feature film debut, Zhang Jingchu (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation), Chang Hsiao Chuan (Wild City) and Amber Kuo (Lord of Shanghai), SKY ON FIRE blasts onto digital May 2 and on Blu-ray™ and DVD June 13 from Well Go USA Entertainment.
Synopsis: In this driving, non-stop action thriller, the chief security officer at a top-secret medical facility (Daniel Wu, “Into the Badlands”) finds himself caught in an explosive battle when a young thief and his accomplices steal a groundbreaking curative medicine. After discovering the true origins of the medicine, the officer must decide whom he can trust to protect the cure from falling into the wrong hands and prevent an all-out war from bringing the city to its knees.
Midway through its current second season, “Into the Badlands” is averaging 3.6 million viewers per episode, including 2.1 million adults 25-54 in Nielsen Live+3 ratings. In the current television season, the series ranks as the #4 scripted drama on cable and the #4 returning drama, behind “The Walking Dead,” “American Horror Story” and “Fear the Walking Dead.”
Having suffered the lack of access to AMC in the years prior, it was only until its arrival on Netflix this month that I was able to catch all six episodes of the hit series, Into The Badlands from creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. This comes in lieu of a second season which premieres on March 19 and I can honestly say that I really enjoyed what this show has to offer.
Into the Badlands Season 2 finds Sunny (Daniel Wu) and M.K. (Aramis Knight) separated and scattered to the wind, each imprisoned in unlikely places. While M.K. struggles to control his powers, Sunny is determined to fight his way back into the Badlands to find his family or die trying. On their journey, Clipper and Colt are assisted by mysterious, new allies whose motivations may be anything but pure. Meanwhile, The Widow (Emily Beecham) continues to consolidate power against the other Barons, while a dark and mysterious threat prepares to exact revenge on them all. Alliances are struck, friendships betrayed, and by season’s end, Sunny and M.K.’s lives will be forever altered with devastating consequences.
Action fans needn’t worry this season and notably if you’re in legendary auteur Ringo Lam’s corner. The new thriller, Sky On Fire is coming soon to cinemas and with none other than Daniel Wu front and center of it all as a security agent on a mission to protect a game-changing cancer cure from slipping into the wrong hands.
Amber Kuo, Joseph Chang and Gordon Lam round out the cast of principles for the film’s outing in November. The latest trailer is just below and with it, a thrilling behind-the-scenes look that pays nothing short of an explosive, driven, hard-hitting and fiery homage to our dear director at hand, and then some.
The latest official mainland trailer began making the rounds last week and clearly the result sampled here promise something exciting to watch in due time. The film opens locally on November 25 with Amber Kuo, Joseph Chang, Leon Lai, Zhang Jingchu Zhang, Simon Yam and Gordon Lam also starring and further dates and locations pending.
