Tony Jaa:There was an initial sense of pressure during Ong Bak since it was my first real starring role. During the filming I became comfortable with the format. I found that I enjoyed acting and the action parts were already something I enjoyed and had done for fun for many years. I don’t feel pressured these days since I am doing something I really enjoy. With Fast and Furious 7 coming up I will finally have a chance to work with a real international cast and crew. It will be a learning experience for me and a chance for me to show what I can do. On the family side getting married, having a child has helped give me a great point of focus and an understanding of responsibility towards others.

Lucas Black Drifts Back Into Character For FAST AND FURIOUS 7

Deadline reports that actor Lucas Black is now being officially announced as having boarded the pack of action-branded cast members lighting the way for the current production of Fast And Furious 7, in addition to the eighth and ninth film to follow. This probably comes as no surprise to some people who may have been expecting to see the 42 and Legion actor reprise his role from the 2006 film, The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift. My best guess is that with things moving full speed ahead, and for all things considered regarding the connection between the 2006 film and the end of Furious 6, we can only hope to hear announcements about actor Mortal Kombat Legacy 2 actor Brian Tee returning to reprise his old role from the film as well. But that’s just me, although I hope I’m not alone.

Two New Screen Beauties Added To FAST AND FURIOUS 7; Extras Needed For Atlanta Set

The production of Fast And Furious 7 has announced two more addition to its main cast this week.

Deadline and Times Of India have each confirmed that Game Of Thrones co-star Nathalie Emmanuel and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone have acquired roles in the upcoming seventh installment of the highly successful film franchise. While most or all details are currently being kept under wraps regarding their roles in Fast And Furious 7, it is particularly said that Emmanuel‘s role will be portrayed alongside those of returning leads Riddick star Vin Diesel and actor Paul Walker.

The news comes just a little over a week after it was announced that actors Kurt Russell was given a role for the film to be directed by James Wan, in continuation from the previous blockbuster hit, Furious 6, directed by Justin Lin. Other additions include returning actors Tyrese Gibson and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, along with Expendables 3 stars Jason Statham and newcoming actress and UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, and international action star Tony Jaa, provided that he can help square things away with Sahamongkol Film Int’l first.

Produced by Diesel and Neal H. Moritz from a script by Chris Morgan, Fast And Furious 7 is prepping for a July 11, 2014 from Universal Pictures and is now looking for extras to begin shooting in Atlanta, Georgia this week as its backdrop for its continuing Los Angeles storyline. Filming is also expected to take place along the Pikes Peak Highway in Colorado.

Further casting announcements and confirmations are expected, so stay tuned for more info.

No details are available about the character in question, except the Death Proof co-star is now a part of a line-up of a few new faces joining the hit franchise, continuing where the $750 million blockbuster smash, Fast And Furious 6, left off last year.

Tony Jaa Is Reportedly In Talks For A Role In FAST 7

Leave it to Tony Jaa to blow our minds before the day is over. The Thai martial arts cinema sensation has just begun rebounding his career with the upcoming releases of Tom Yum Goong 2 and two new films with action star Dolph Lundgren titled A Man Will Rise and Skin Trade.

The biggest hype so far is around Tom Yum Goong 2 from director Prachya Pinkaew, which is releasing domestically in 3D on October 24, 2013 in 3D. Now the word via the HeatVision column at The Hollywood Reporter states that Jaa is in talks for a role in Fast 7.

Speaking with THR via email, Jaa clarified his excitement for the franchise now going on its seventh film, slated for a release on July 11, 2014. He says “I have been a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise, …The films are fast paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humor and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first U.S. studio production.”

Jaa also added “Having a chance to work with Vin Diesel and The Rock already makes me a winner.” in response to going toe to toe with two of the film’s biggest lead stars, Vin Diesel who serves as producer and has mostly been with the franchise since the beginning, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who first appeared in the 2011 blockbuster, Fast Five, followed by the explosive follow-up, Fast And Furious 6.

The Conjuring director James Wan, who recently shared a photo op with returning co-star Tyrese Gibson showing a teaser poster for the film, is inheriting the seat from Justin Lin who helmed the previous four films of the franchise. The film is also set to star the film’s main actors, also including Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster, with other names pending. Mixed martial arts star, Hollywood’s newest athletic actress and The Expendables 3 co-star Ronda Rousey has been tapped for a role that will also see her starring alongside actor and fellow The Expendables 3 co-star Jason Statham who made an explosive cameo at the end of the previous film.

And if all goes according to plan, Jaa will become the third known martial arts actor in the film. Meanwhile, Tom Yum Goong 2 has also been picked up by Magnolia since its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May, and will be released as The Protector 2. Stay tuned for details.

SYNDICATE HYPE: A Word Or Two About Fast And Furious 7

Coming off of my experience with Fast And Furious 6 since watching it this past weekend, I have been wanting to write about this film, (as if, lol) and I really did not want to wait a whole week to post it for another Film Of The Week article. Thankfully and more likely than not, the film’s worldwide earnings and overall success, and a positive review virtually anywhere you look online have landed the film as one of the most lauded and celebrated films going into the summer of 2013.

TWITTER SOUNDOFF: The Case For Adkins, Johnson And Statham In Fast 7

Now, we are well into the month of May going into June, and Justin Lin’s directorial finale of the franchise, Fast And Furious 6, is pretty much obliterating weekend box office records this week after its successful start in the U.K. as Universal gets its continuance into the third trilogy with Fast And Furious 7, to be directed by James Wan. Furthermore, everyone who has been paying attention is pretty much aware of how prevelant Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has become in the franchise since his role in Fast Five as “D.S.S. Agent Luke Hobbs”. No argument here, for there is no doubt that The Rock has come a VERY long way from being a wrestler to his breakout roles in The Mummy 2, The Scorpion King and The Rundown, to becoming one of the biggest stars of the industry, especially with the nod he got from Marvel President Kevin Feige for the role of Luke Cage.

Fast And Furious 7 Gets A Release Date

With Universal Pictures fasttracking the production of the seventh installment of Fast And Furious, we now have a release date set for next summer for July 11, 2014 according to a new report from Deadline on Tuesday. Earlier reports have confirmed Fast And Furious 7 will be directed by James Wan, who will be replacing director Justin Lin, who has been with the franchise since directing The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift.

The upcoming May 24, 2013 release of Fast And Furious 6 will feature the returning cast from the franchise, including Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges, Michelle Rodroguez, Gal Gadot, Sung Kang and Luke Evans, with Gina Carano and Joe Taslim. Special appearances are said to be of pop singer Rita Ora and action superstar Jason Statham, who is also currently rumored to feature in the seventh film.

Universal Pictures is stopping at nothing to fast-track the production of Fast And Furious 7 as we are a little over a month away from seeing actors Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reunite with its ensemble cast in the May 24 release of Fast And Furious 6.
