Selva of Thoongaavanam fame, or pan over to helmer Baran Bo Odar whose latest American iteration, Sleepless, has a trailer now running ahead of its February 24, 2017 release from Open Road Films. Front and center is actor Jamie Foxx with a career having turned much more prolific over the years in film over music. There’s not a whole lot to come across at the moment but director Kim Geon’s latest, Clocking Out, looks all sorts of exciting at this point. Just thirty seconds in with its first trailer and you’re catapulted into some serious high-speed action that easily speaks to the senses with a sci-fi narrative that sees our cast facing a mysterious species that has taken over Korea. The film is releasing this month and stars Kim Sang-joong, Kim Kang-woo and Joo Won. Hopefully this will get some better press than it currently has now because this looks just fantastic so far, and presumably, a full trailer remains pending. Take a look!

Reports are now out this week that Disney’s forthcoming live-action remake, announced last March, has begun the global search for the actress to take the title role for its 3D release on November 2, 2018. Avatar sequel co-scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have been to tapped to follow-up on the work previously done by writers Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek for the script, and reportedly for a more nuanced, detailed combination between the classic heroine ballad and the inital animated feature. Director Asun Mawardi’s sophomore 2011 action thriller, Pirate Brothers, wasn’t the best of its genre. As broad as action star Jackie Chan’s skillset is, you can expect his latest, writer and director Stanley Tong’s Kung Fu Yoga to showcase a good number of surprises and morsels for Chan fans. The film opens early next year in China with Chan in the role of Jack, an archeologist and professor who sets out on a whirlwind adventure with a beautiful Indian professor and her assistant in search of lost treasure.
