Well Go USA Releases Its New Official Trailer For RAILROAD TIGERS
Ding Sheng’s new period action adventure, Railroad Tigers, has already undergone its film critic analysis and so you’ll find plenty of reviews to source between now and the time you decide to see this one on the big screen. It opens on Friday courtesy of Well Go USA and so hours before then, Thursday saw the release of the new official trailer for the Jackie Chan headliner which sees our legendary star lead a ragtag team of rebels on a last ditch effort to cripple the Japanese during World War II.
Our own review is up and in citing it some, look out for the usual formulaic, big scale Chan-style action and adventure you can expect, though less of a martial arts variety. Also, keep an eye out for Chan’s own son, Jaycee, leading a solid physical and comedic performance alongside his father despite the press neglect a la Chinese censorship, as well as other noticeables like Huang Zitao as the musician of the group, Wang Kai as the deadly sharpshooter, and even Ikeuchi Hiroyuki whose villainy spawns some pretty brilliant, jocular flair.
Oh, and a cameo. For no reason. Literally.
Catch the trailer now and enjoy your weekend with Chan at the movies!
The New Trailer For KUNG FU YOGA Goes Into The Wild!
Oscar-winning action royalty Jackie Chan’s workload throughout last year is certain to keep the aged-yet-nimble and active auteur on our radar a bit in 2017. The latest example of this is best highlit by his recent pairing with director Stanely Tong following their work on films like Rumble In The Bronx and The Myth, and for this, we get Kung Fu Yoga which bodes as another similarly CZ12-ish globetrotter with lush scenery, epic views, and of course, the usual dose of action and comedy crazy signature of Chan filmlore.
SYNOPSIS:
Chinese archeology professor Jack teams up with beautiful Indian professor Ashmita and assistant Kyra to locate lost Magadha treasure. In a Tibetan ice cave, they find the remains of the royal army that had vanished together with the treasure, only to be ambushed by Randall, the descendent of a rebel army leader. When they free themselves, their next stop is Dubai where a diamond from the ice cave is to be auctioned. After a series of double-crosses and revelations about their past, Jack and his team travel to a mountain temple in India, using the diamond as a key to unlock the real treasure.
Coming off of Chan’s Railroad Tigers, this one looks more amply keen on much more stylistic action which should service fans well. This, and we get actor Sonu Sood punching his way in for screentime as the key villain to add to the peril – car chases and wild animals and such…not to mention a lion that simply can’t even.

AT LONG LAST: An Interview With Andy Long
That stated, I was never personally well acquainted with Andy Long until around my first or second year as a writer here at Film Combat Syndicate. However, the work he’s amassed and contributed to the genre and the people of his field makes him one of the most sought after people to date for a guy that lives so far away from most others, and it’s partly by way of the internet in its evolution for more than twenty years now that his relevance and success keeps him going, having collaborated with numerous teams and filmmakers aplenty, at home and abroad. Independent AND mainstream.
RAILROAD TIGERS Whips Out Big Stunts And Classic Hero Theme Music In The New Trailer
Action star Jackie Chan has a ton of films coming out soon; My sentiments on Kung Fu Yoga still stand while I look forward to several of his titles in the coming months, including Railroad Tigers from director Ding Sheng and which certainly speaks to Chan’s love for musical comedy, big stunts and silent film lore all from which he takes his cues as a filmmaker.
It’s the exhiliaration I feel just from watching certain moments now seen in the latest trailer for the film which details the story of a group of rebels banding together to disrupt the flow of operations of the Imperial Japanese army. Chan has gone big before and oftentimes gets exhausting in certain movies, but this one has a delightful flair that I like. It’s Chan doing his Chan thing as Chan usually does and who would protest that?
The film opens in China on December 23 with overseas releases pending. Check out the latest trailer below, packed with action and peril, and a classic theme fitting of such a big spectacle!
All Jackie Chan Needs Is One Inch In The Latest KUNG FU YOGA Trailer
Got a formula? Stick to it. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Certainly this is how action star Jackie Chan and many of his fans may feel about his movies and I can certainly understand. That said, I can’t really say I’m surprised and impressed anymore by a lot of what I see, except for whatever stands out the most in a trailer for any Jackie Chan film.

Unarmed and outnumbered, they must fight back against an entire army using only their wits, in a series of a dazzling set pieces and action scenes rivaling anything seen on the big screen before.

Academy Lifetime Honoree Jackie Chan Sends His Regards
Actor and legendary action cinema auteur Jackie Chan’s recent achievement with the Academy’s Honorary 2016 Governors Award has beem no easy feat to accomplish. A good look at his history will tell you that with respect to the challenges he’s faced both in front and behind the camera, and to no affect at all is he stopping any time soon with the current production of new sci-fi actioner, Bleeding Steel.
Chan took to social media today to announce his gratitude in the wake of his latest announcement, marking yet another career milestone as well as a first for the Oscars. As per his Facebook post, read either language below, and by all means, feel free to fawn and remimisce over some nifty footage with Chan on screen by way of WatchMojo.
It’s been 56 years since I filmed my first movie when I was six, and I’ve worked on over 200 films to date. I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Oscars for giving me this award of encouragement and recognizing my achievements while I’m still “young”. I’m absolutely honored to be the first Chinese in history to receive this award.
The JC Stunt Team has always had a motto: We don’t ask why, we just do or die. This was one of our fundamental principles, and also a kind of passionate attitude that we, as action movie stars, kept at heart. To be honest, making an action movie isn’t easy. It’s normal for us to get hurt and bleed. Many of us have sustained a body full of injuries and I’m no exception to the case. That’s why I’d like to share this honor with my brothers of the JC Stunt Team who have been with me through good times and bad times over the many years, and I’d like to share this award with every action movie star from all over the world!
I’d like to say thank you to my family; thank you to every outstanding, talented and professional person I’ve worked with on the movie set; and thank you to all the business partners who have continuously supported me. I’ve actually set myself a “little goal” and hope that this honorary golden statue won’t be my last one. I don’t think the Oscars have a rule where you can’t win another golden statue after receiving an honorary award, right?
I’d also like to take this opportunity to say a big heartfelt thank you to all my fans who have endlessly given me so much support. You’re the reason why I’m motivated to keep moving forward. Thank you!
We don’t ask why, we just do or die.
