The film earned its simultaneous praise alongside Evans’s equally smashing debut of The Raid 2 as both films were produced by Evans’s banner, PT Merantau Films among others, with Killers ultimately doing well for itself upon its release in Indonesia back in February. There’s a great line-up awaiting those who will be able to attend this summer’s events at the Japan Cuts 2014, now well on its way to an eighth year run in light of what’s happening over at NYAFF. There are multiple occurrences this month, with Indonesia, New York, Los Angeles, and Sydney scheduled for early screenings of writer and director Gareth Evans’ new film, The Raid 2, and The Expendables 3 helmer Patrick Hughes officially signed to reboot the first of both films with Evans executive producing with XYZ Films, and original stars Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian on board to direct the brutal signature fights. Following news of its worldwide sales back in November of last year, Radius/TWC has officially now acquired the North American rights to director Timo Tjahjanto‘s latest collaborative efforts with Merantau Films and XYZ Films for the new film, The Night Comes For Us.
