There are times when I can keep up with the birthdays and other times when I’m just too busy to write. At any rate, the love is definitely there for actors and action stars celebrated by the masses, and that especially includes Chilean martial arts star and Ki-Way entrepreneur, Marko Zaror. I first caught wind of Zaror many years ago as most have if they ever read a website called Twitchfilm (before it was re-branded as Screen Anarchy). Zaror made a name for himself following the releases of films like Chinango, Kiltro and MirageMan, unleashing a martial arts prowess that absolutely equals to some of the best screenfighting talents today, and it certainly helps that Zaror has been able to share some time on the lens with some of these folks to create some of the most memorable action sequences through memorable roles. There’s something plenty fascinating about independent films that’s worth discussing. Otherwise, chalk it up to, well…time, seeing as it takes time to make a film. Olmos’s Green Ghost And The Masters Of The Stone the final product to flourish in time for its premiere at last year’s 20th Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival. Years ago, I became obsessed with listing my “top-tens” or “fives” in final fight scenes. There was a UK website that produced such lists and for their final fight scene list, it bothered me for the longest time that it never had the one featured in Drive between Mark Dacascos and Masaya Kato, so you can imagine how fulfilled I felt when the page loaded and I finally saw it listed. That website has long since disappeared, but the practice of listing fight faves stands strong among the action genre fandom to this day. Deadline is reporting that Chilean action star Marko Zaror will join the cast of Chad Stahelski’s fourth installment of the John Wick saga from Lionsgate. Zaror’s addition tops an already sizeable bevy of action talents taking aim at the franchise with the martial arts star reuniting with Undisputed 3: Redemption and Savage Dog star Scott Adkins, and fellow action stalwarts Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada. Now’s the signal for you and all your fellow Kiltro, MirageMan, Mandrill and Redeemer fans to take note and follow the official Instagram account for El Puño Del Condor (The Fist Of The Condor). And, you can bet that Zaror is reteaming with none other than the director of all four aforementioned Zaror actioners, Ernesto Días Espinoza. Provided Covid-19 doesn’t impede director Daniel Zirilli’s current production deal with Shogun Films anymore than one might predict, the workload may finally add to the current stack of actioners rolling out for the Hollow Point and Acceleration helmer. For this, we turn to Ultimate Soldier – best known in the states as Invincible – which pits actor Johnny Strong against international action star Marko Zaror in a tale of an experimental program involving nanites gone haywire. AMG Entertainment has local dibs in Japan for a release on DVD beginning June 3. Colonel John Taylor enlists billionaire inventor Leor Teska to fund a secret black site, testing Teska’s new nano technology for military applications, developed by scientists. When one of the test subjects, Brock Cortez, escapes, Teska’s head of security, Cam Devore is given the dangerous task of tracking him down. Also starring are Vladmir Kulich, Paul Kennedy and Sally Kirkland.

INVINCIBLE: Peep The Most Recent Poster Art For Daniel Zirilli’s Sci-Fi Action Thriller

It was last week when The Action Elite got the exclusive dibs on the first official poster for Daniel Zirilli’s new action thriller, Invincible. In case you missed it, you can peep it below, headlining actors Johnny Strong and martial arts star, actor Marko Zaror. Hailing from Zirilli’s Popart Film Factory and D3 Telefilm, Invicible sees Strong in the role of Cam Devore, the head of security for a billionaire-backed black site being used to test an inventor’s latest strides in nano-technology. Zaror stars as Brock Cortez, one of the military applicants used for the experiment who Devore is tasked with tracking down when Cortez escapes. Also starring are Vladmir Kulich, Paul Kennedy and Sally Kirkland. D3’s Doug Price is also producing with Zirilli who just recently wrapped Hollow Point with Luke Goss and is setting forth to helm Bad Reputation with Gary Daniels starring.

It was just this summer when we finally learned of director Jesse Johnson’s latest return to the director’s chair for period action thriller, Savage Dog. The attachment of actor and martial artist Scott Adkins certainly emboldened things a bit followed by news of fellow stars Marko Zaror and Cung Le along with actress JuJu Chan certainly helped keep things afloat as production moved forward. The promotional campaign for the film hasn’t officially begun yet although what came of it about a month ago was a mock promotional poster which you can click here to check out. Actor Scott Adkins is already reaping acclaim among Fantastic Fest attendees in the hours since catching wind of the premiere of Todor Chapkanov’s Boyka: Undisputed. Partly it’s a matter of great timing as well with director Jesse Johnson in the wake of updating his own website with a fresh new poster headling his newly completed film, Savage Dog. Details on the film have remained all but scant on the story since the film was unveiled ahead of production at Cannes back in May.
