With Daredevil still set make its way to Netflix on April 10, the network officially rolled out brand new poster art in two versions this week, including an animated version. The series has been busy garnering a lot of buzz since debuting a gritty new teaser trailer earlier this month which offers quite the favorable imagery worthy of an action-packed show full of grit and darkness to whet the appetite. The past two years have been huge in the world of superhero entertainment in film and television with two cinematic universes on their way between two studios, particularly at Marvel with their current slate between now through 2019 while ABC and Netflix pave the way for shows like Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Daredevil, Iron Fist and the newly cast A.K.A. Jessica Jones which just added its newest supervillain with Doctor Who familiar David Tennant. You can pretty much thank Marvel for keeping you busy in its big screen and video streaming endeavors between now and 2019. Its current business with Netflix will forsee the evident production and releases of several new shows attributed to a few notable superheroes and superheroines, the first being actor Charlie Cox‘s title role in Daredevil. Granted, there’s been talk from some that audiences might be tired of “dark and gritty” when it comes to superhero properties on film. Nonetheless, Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight clearly still sees potential in such a vision to befit this extension of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lending credence to its shared characteristics with films and shows like The French Connection and The Wire. Back in October, actor Benedict Cumberbatch‘s name began circulating the interwebs as the primary frontrunner for the upcoming production of Doctor Strange, based on the classic Marvel 1963 publication by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The on-going war for bragging rights continues as Marvel and DC continue to duke it out, toe-to-toe, neck and neck for ultimate live-action comic book TV and film glory. DC is currently in the running following its most recent productions of productions for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, as well as the developing TV universe between current shows like Gotham, Arrow and The Flash, and upcoming teleivison properties like Titans, Supergirl and Krypton. It’s been several years since development began on Marvel’s forthcoming live-action Doctor Strange contribution to the studio’s now-accumulating cinematic universe. That said, Marvel has decided to move forward with kicking off an advance look at the first official teaser poster. The teaser, of course, is the cream-filling for anyone and everyone who’s been curious to see what the new upcoming blockbuster sequel has to offer following its $1.5 billion dollar success in 2012. Development is still up in the air for the forthcoming installment of X-Men: Apocalypse, following up filmmaker Bryan Singer‘s 2014 smash-hit, X-Men: Days Of Future Past. According to recent statements made by screenwriter and producer Simom Kinberg, recasting for certain roles may be a possibility depending on where the new film goes, which he also stated could follow-up the 2011 movie, X-Men: First Class.
