Channing Tatum Officially Signs On For A 'Gambit' Project
Director Bryan Singer‘s new film, X-Men: Days Of Future Past is all the rage this month with fans pouring out for several star-studded red carpet premieres being held around as per the recently announced X-Men X-Perience which kicked off in New York last week. The film will make its way to theaters in the UK and North America next weekend as screenwriter Simon Kinberg continues to maintain the excitement over the previously announced 2016 installation of X-Men: Apocalypse, citing a “massive scale and scope” with respect to constructing that part of the story.
Bearing all this in mind, the forthcoming sequel might possibly include some of the original cast members from the 2000 movie and on (and that is only if the unconfirmed rumors from several public sources online are true), and that may include the appearance of Gambit, by way of 22 Jumpstreet star, actor Channing Tatum, who has already expressed much interest in playing the role since late last year. “I would like to play Gambit. Gambit’s my favorite,” he said. “I’m from New Orleans, around that area. My dad’s from New Orleans, and I like to do a Cajun accent. I could do it for real. No knock on Taylor Kitsch, though, ’cause I actually like his Gambit, but I’ve always lived around Cajun people. […] Gambit was always like the woman-loving, cigarette-smoking, drinking [guy]. He was the punk rock of all the superheroes. He’s a thief. He kind of rode the line.”.
The move is also strongly supported by franchise producer Lauren Schuler Donner who told Empire in January, “I’m dying to do a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum… That doesn’t have to be a great big movie. It’s a thief in New Orleans, it’s a whole different story. He’s on board, and I have to get the studio on board. How can anyone resist Channing? He’s such a sweetheart.”.
As of this week, reports confirm that Tatum has signed on for a project that will include the role of Gambit, previously played by actor Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. What is not yet known is to what degree Tatum will get to play the role, be it in Apocalypse or a standalone feature. Rest assured, the G.I. Joe and White House Down actor is officially on board for a new action role that will no doubt cater to the hardcore fan base extending to the armada of Marvel moviegoers who may have been waiting to see him on screen fourteen years after Singer‘s X-Men.
Tatum will star alongside actress Mila Kunis in Warner Bros. July 18 theatrical release of the Wachowskis’ new intergalactic action adventure, Jupiter Ascending.

The JUSTICE LEAGUE Is Coming!
Well, it’s official. Director Zack Snyder is putting his best foot forward with DC and Warner Bros. for a Justice League film that will follow the long awaited release of the Man Of Steel 2/Batman vs. Superman movie which is still awaiting an official title. The news just broke late in the weekend following previous reports of the second film’s push back from its initial July 17, 2015 date so that Snyder and the other filmmaker could fully realize their vision.
Casting announcements are still in constant flux, with official updates still needed regarding just how actors Jason Momoa, Matt Damon or Dwanye “The Rock” Johnson will be involved in Warner Bros. growing DC film series. In addition, there is also the issue of what will happen with other characters like Green Lantern and Flash, the latter who is currently poised for a standalone television series on the CW later this year starring Gustin Grant.
Rest assured, Warner Bros. and DC are awake to what is happening now with Walt Disney Co. and Marvel cinematic universe, in accordance with its current ABC series, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and its forthcoming programs for Netflix. And with San Diego Comic-Con on the way, fans can expect some HUGE surprises to come. In the meantime, Snyder’s next film is already set to start principal photography this summer in Michigan where hundreds reportedly lined up for an extras’ casting call.
Batman vs. Superman will see the return of Henry Cavill after leading last year’s Man Of Steel, with actresses Amy Adams and Diane Lane, and actor Lawrence Fishburne expected to reprise their roles as Lois Lane, Martha Kent and Perry White, respectively. New on the roster is actor Ben Affleck in the role of Batman, with Gal Gadot attached to the first of a previously-reported three-film deal as Wonder Woman with a standalone movie still in development. Actors Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons will portray Lex Luthor and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively; Currently rounding out the cast are actresses Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto, and actor Callan Mulvey, in addition to the recently announced role of Cyborg to be played by actor Ray Fisher.
Both films will be shot back to back, with Batman vs Superman heading into theaters on May 6, 2016 against Captain America 3. Justice League still has no official release date.

Watch A New B-Roll Featurette For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2!
It’s official, folks. The award for waaaay too many trailers and TV spots has to go to director Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I have to say, it’s been an adventure trying to keep up with the promotional campaign for this one, and I don’t even think I was able to share the latest official trailer for it. So, I’m more at ease knowing that this film is on its last legs of promotion after just debuting in Europe before its North American release on May 2.
Needless to say however, with an action packed X-Men mid-credits nod, in addition to Black Cat’s possible inclusion in Drew Goddard’s The Sinister Six, the production of Venom and all other Spidey related projects to remain on-going for another several years, we’re far from done with this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As for me, well, I think I’ll just leave you this 10-minuted complete B-roll below.
Enjoy!
The Final Trailer For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Is Here
Following a new clip from director Bryan Singer‘s forthcoming film, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, fans were granted a viewing of the final trailer for the film ahead of its May 23 North American theatrical release. I have to say, it’s almost daunting that it’s been up to fourteen years since Singer launched this amazing franchise, ultimately putting Aussie lead actor Hugh Jackman on the Hollywood map. And with the actor appearing in all-six films in the franchise thusfar with at least two more possible films on the way, I’m pretty sure Jackman wears that badge proudly.
Several featurettes have already been aired online and are now viral as the film continues to promote through next month. Meanwhile, Singer and his team have already begun conceptualizing what may be in store for the next film, X-Men: Apocalypse, which is scheduled to arrive on May 27, 2016, prior to Jackman’s return as the titular character in the tentatively titled The Wolverine 2, slated for March 3, 2017 under director James Mangold. So, time will tell as to just how we will eventually see all of this play out. This franchise has been nothing short of epic since 2000, and as easy as it is for a lot of studios to get comic book franchises wrong, Singer‘s presence has played a significant role in helping get this one just right. Sentinels and all.
Watch the final trailer, and check out some recent character posters below.
SYNOPSIS:

The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past — to save our future.

Marvel's ANT-MAN In Talks To Add Patrick Wilson
The Wrap is reporting that actor Patrick Wilson is currently in negotiations for a role in writer/director Edgar Wright’s next film, Ant-Man. If confirmed, the actor whose recent appearances include horror hits like The Conjuring and Insidious 1 and 2 will star alongside actors Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, with roles currently in the running for actor Michael Peña, as well as actress Evangeline Lily.
Based on multifaceted comic book writer and publisher Stan Lee’s 1962 creation and co-written by Joe Cornish, the film will star Rudd as reformed thief and electronics expert Scott Lang who in years later, adapts the technology to become the titular superhero created conceived by biochemist Hank Pym (Douglas) whose earlier experiments brought him to discover subatomic particles that can allow a person to shrink down to the size of an insect, and also giving its owner the ability to control ants. The film is but one of many films spanning the currently on-going phases of Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Ant-Man scheduled in the third phase for its theatrical release on July 31, 2015.
Accordingly, the film arrives three months after the May 1 release of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, for which fans can expect to see some teaser footage in a special ABC event on March 18, 2014, following its most recent shoot in South Africa.
Wilson’s next film, director Joe Carnahan’s Stretch will arrive this Summer.

Paul Bettany To Become The 'Vision' Of THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
It’s been a busy month of February for developing news around Marvel’s current production of The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, with filming locations hinting at a gym in New York City, as well as locations in South Africa this month, in addition to reports that events in the preceding Captain America: The Winter Soldier will contribute to events in the new Avengers film which may or may not include Ms. Marvel. But while all other developments are being made to get the information straight, we can at least confirm one more role to be introduced in the form of Vision, to be played by Paul Bettany.
The character has a few shared origins in the Avengers canon, but it appears Marvel is going the route of the character’s creation by way of character Tony Stark’s creation of Ultron when Ultron goes rogue and hacks J.A.R.V.I.S. (Stark’s cyberbutler also voiced by Bettany in all three Iron Man films and The Avengers). Jackson, Cobie Smulders and Iron Man 2 and 3 actor Don Cheadle, with James Spader and Thomas Kretschmann rounding out the principal cast.
The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and opens May 1, 2015 as per its pending release slate of films within the purview of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including director James Gunn’s August 1, 2014 release of Guardians Of The Galaxy and its pending 2016 sequel, the release of Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, and the productions of Thor 3 and Captain America 3 as well.

Reports are now circulating that actor Thomas Kretschmann has signed on to play another main villain known as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker in the upcoming film, Marvel’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
