Cockneys VS. Zombies helmer Matthias Hoene’s latest cinematic adventure has already seen its share of screentime throughout Asia and is now poised to take on a limited theatrical rollout for Enter The Warrior’s Gate. Granted the first thing that comes to mind when looking at the trailer from any angle are any number of previous films that transport a Western protagonist to an ancient Asian setting and so there’s no hiding it, but if a little fantasy action is what you need to get your May started, this one might be up your alley.
Epic fantasy-adventure meets martial arts action in this thrilling film written by Luc Besson & Robert Mark Kamen. After a mysterious chest opens a gateway through time, teen gamer Jack (Uriah Shelton) is transported to an ancient empire terrorized by a cruel barbarian king (former WWE superstar Dave Bautista). Jack will need all of his gaming skills as he battles to defeat the barbarian, protect a beautiful princess, and somehow find his way back home.
The film’s cast is also prominently led by actor Mark Chao (Chronicles Of The Ghostly Tribe) and actress Ni Ni (upcoming The Tales Of Wukong), as well as seasoned thesps Francis Ng (Line Walker) and Kara Wai (upcoming Mrs. K) with actress Sienna Guillory (High Rise), and famed Dutch martial arts action actor, Ron Smoorenburg (Who Am I?, Sultan) also starring. Enter The Warrior’s Gate has a North American date set for May 5 in theaters and VoD courtesy of EuropaCorp USA.
