Ain't No Bull In The New Teaser For SENSITIVE 70'S TURTLENECK TOUGH GUYS!
Independent filmmaker Jose Montesinos (Barrio Brawler, Bert: The Emotion Picture) is back to punch you in the face with all kinds of masculine tenderness! Yes, post-production currently remains on-going for the upcoming shortfilm, Sensitive 70’s Turtleneck Tough Guys, and action-packed comedic spoof circling the eclectic era best known for such trendy tropes like sideburns, UV sunglasses, groovy music, kung fu…and of course, turtlenecks.
The project is just one in a handful of collaborations between Montesinos and martial arts action favorite, Eric Jacobus, two of the main cornerstones of online independent action cinema in the past fifteen years. If you know Montesinos‘ work, you can instantly tell he has a flare for all things fashionable when it comes to 70’s and 80’s nostalgia; One of his best contributions to date was a trailer-only project titled Hell’s Kittens, a homage to sexy grindhouse action cinema at the height of popularity for the Rodriguez/Tarantino hookup, Grindhouse Double Feature. I have to say, it’s quite refreshing to know Montesinos still likes to dabble around it. Ya dig?
It is the 1970’s. Three turtleneck-wearing tough guys get together to discuss what it means to be masculine in this day and age. As they discuss their innermost sensitive feelings, we see the violence they must commit in order to be deemed “a man”.
As a noteworthy mention, moviegoers can now catch Jacobus in the “A” segment of the newly released horror anthology, ABC’s Of Death 2, now available on-demand courtesy of Magnet Releasing ahead of its theatrical rollout four weeks from today. In the meantime, Sensitive 70’s Turtleneck Tough Guys is currently in the running for a slate of film festival entries which are expected to be announced soon before its online release.
Sensitive 70’s Turtleneck Tough Guys is also co-written/produced/directed by Brett Stillo. Montesinos and Jacobus are joined by Troy Carbonel, and actresses DeeDee Luxe and Lisa Younger, with fight choreography by Montesinos, Jacobus and action cinematographer Dennis Ruel.
