Production nears as director Paul W.S. Anderson gears up for live-action video game adaptation, Monster Hunter. On Friday, Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) and Toho Co., Ltd. (Toho) took to the masses to announce a few more details about its new feature film endeavor which Anderson is scripting. The press release itself described the plot in brief terms as a film thay will depict two protagonists from different respective worlds who must join forces to fend off monsters and survive. The Monster Hunter game series debut in 2004 and now boasts sales of up to well over 50 million units; its most recent release, Monster Hunter: World, sold a record-setting 10 million units. Joining actress Milla Jovovich, and actors Tony Jaa, Ron Perlman, hip-hop artist-turned-actor T.I. Plot details are still thin following news that broke in September for Craig’s favored addition to the film which will otherwise give the Star Wars: The Last Jedi helmer a chance to mingle with a whodunit-style modern murder mystery drawn from his enthusiasm for Agatha Christie. The news came later on Thursday after Evans officially announced his departure from the MCU as one of Marvel Studios’ core cast members since taking the mantle for Joe Johnston’s 2011 Captain America installment. MOJIN X To Sequel After Wuershan’s ‘Mojin’, Casting Celina Jade, Zhang Hanyu and Jiang Wu
Zhang Muye’s “Ghost Blows Out The Light” has made immense work of having itself applied to the big screen in the last several years. Wuershan’s Mojin: The Lost Legend was the first before Lu Chuan’s spiritual sequel, Chronicles Of The Ghostly Tribe while Fei Xing’s Worm Valley and Dragon Ridge entries remain a mystery following announcements by Enlight back in May. Whether or not those two projects happen remains to be seen while recent news out of Variety makes clearer the casting of Celina Jade (Wolf Warrior 2) for Li Yifan’s Mojin X. The good news is I’m getting back a little bit more into a steady viewing of anime. Assuredly Hellboy fans have had time to deal with their grievances over not seeing a third Perlman/Del Toro offering. Frankly I think the excuses are bullshit myself and I share the frustrations, but the good news is that Lionsgate and director Neil Marshall have stayed steady for their focus on keeping the vibe going with some convicing set stills of David Harbour in full costume.
