Terrorist Thriller, CAPTURE, Sets Up At Thunder Road With ‘Small Town Crime’ Directors

Writing/directing sibling duo Ian and Eshom Nelms (Small Town Crime) are officially gearing up for Thunder Road Pictures’s latest, Capture. Mia Galuppo’s exclusive at The Hollywood Reporter broke the story which notes plot details that center on an ex-cop in a race against time to prove his innocence and put a stop to a looming wave of devastating terrorist attacks aimed at San Francisco. Albert Torres wrote the screenplay which was developed with Fermion Films. Thunder Road is producing the film with 3 Arts, and with Riverstone Entertainment financing the pic. The film hails as the fifth feature length outing for the Nelms brothers since debuting together on Squirrel Trap in 2004, and earning several festival nominations and wins on later films, including Lost On Purpose (2013) and Waffle Street (2015).

SILVER & BLACK Lands Two Screenwriters For A Spring Start Date

Sony’s upcoming incarnation, Silver & Black, has reportedly landed two prime screenwriters in the form of Lindsey Beer (upcoming Chaos Walking) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (upcoming Tomb Raider), according to The Hollywood Reporter. Both are following up from a previous draft written by Thor scribe Christopher Yost who preceded that of writer Gina Prince Bythewood (The Secret Life Of Bees) who is set to direct. Previous reports in the past few months from sites including The Hashtag Show and Omega Underground have revealed that principal photography is set to commence this March through June under the working title “Tri-Border”, with locations in Atlanta, Georgia along with some scenes in Mexico. Ronda Rousey’s career with the WWE remains pending following recent headlines. In the meantime, she’s got goals set in cinema and with none other than director Peter Berg and a rousing list of heavy hitters for potential franchise vehicle, Mile 22. DEN OF THIEVES 2 Is Officially In Development At STX

Antia Busch over at Deadline is putting the word out that the wheels are officially turning for Den Of Thieves 2 with Christian Gudegast back to direct from his own script. Gerard Butler, who steered the action-packed L.A. set crime tale will return to star along with O’Shea Jackson Jr. with a story following the aftermath of the first film that now sees Jackson Jr.’s role embroiled with the Panther mafia in lieu of an ambitious diamond heist. The news is the result of the first film’s reported overperformance at the box office having so far earned up to $57 million dollars, making it a worthy reward to reap for a 15-year effort from producers Mark Canton and Tucker Tooley. INUYASHIKI: Man And Machine Are One In The First Official Trailer

Director Sato Shinsuke is someone you’ve probably been keeping your eye on for the new year if you have an eye for live-action manga adaptations. He’s got two rolling out this year and first on the menu is Inuyashiki based on Oku Hiroya’s 2014 publication. It’s a damn good package too, ripe with the use of an unlikely hero pitted against formidable odds. Actors Kinashi Noritake and Satoh Takeru lead the way for a story telling of an old man forced to face a looming threat in the form of a vindictive high school student following an explosion that renders them with extraordinary abilities by way of bionic implants. Fox is making good on its earlier hype from January regarding a standalone Kitty Pride movie, it seems. As Deadline reported on Monday, the studio is tapping Brian Michael Bendis to script an X-Men cinematic universe entry vaguely-titled 143 for Deadpool helmer Tim Miller to direct. The noted X-Men superheroine launched under Marvel Comics in 1980 with a number of skills surrounding her ability to “phase” herself and become intangible, allowing her and whatever she touches to pass through any object. Her history has seen her grow her affiliations with numerous teams including and especially with Guardians Of The Galaxy protagonist Star Lord at one point. Epic Acquires Roel Reine’s Norse War Thriller, REDBAD, For North America
