Director David Leitch is the center of attention as of late with a career that has taken a striking turn from stunts and second unit direction to fulltime filmmaking after sharing the helm with Chad Stahelski for John Wick in 2014. Now upon following up with Deadpool 2, The Hollywood Reporter has it on good terms that the Atomic Blonde helmer is in talks to direct the hotly anticipated spin-off to The Fast And Furious franchise from a script by Chris Morgan. For up to four decades, the Lucky Stars franchise has been a staple of Hong Kong action cinema bearing the likes of Sammo Hung a motley crew of players like Richard Ng, John Sham, Charlie Chin, Eric Tsang and Stanley Fung. Adding to the robust action comedy fare were legends Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao along with Sibble Hu, Dick Wei, Andy Lau, Michelle Yeoh, Richard Norton and Kurata Yasuaki to name a few and with seven non-linear narrative films in, it was a likely surprise for all who learned last year that another was in tow. Fans keen on more from the Marvel/Netflix end of things will have plenty to look forward to with Season 2 of Marvel’s Jessica Jones beginning March 8. Unsolved mysteries and newer dangers, and the return of a familiar enemy lie in waiting judging by recent press on what’s to come as we learn more about the second season following all the shows leading up to last year’s debut of The Defenders. Krysten Ritter kicks the door down for another bold and no-nonsense approach with Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss and Eka Darville also reprising next to the additions of Leah Gibson and J.R. Ramirez. Melissa Rosenberg serves as showrunner just as she did for the first season and with the other shows setting up for their next seasons, Jessica Jones is readying to be the cog that gets things going. Though it’s taken well over a decade to happen, the return of actor Tony Leung Chiu-Wai for Europe Raiders is a much appreciated one for fans who’ve seen the franchise in its endeavors in Tokyo and Seoul. The latest from director Jingle Ma once more at the helm also brings forth the likes of xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage Kris Wu along with actresses Tiffany Tang and Du Juan, and Thai superstar Jeeja Yanin and on that note, the first official teaser is finally stirring about hailing a stylish revival with action that measures up to par courtesy of Jackie Chan stunt team cohort Han Guanhua. New Line's SHAZAM! Is Underway In Toronto

Monday saw the official production starts of New Line Cinema’s Shazam! from director David F. Sandberg. Zachary Levi stars in the title role along with Asher Angel as his young counterpart, Billy Batson, inspired by the Whiz Comics 1940 launch from creators Bill Parker and C.C. Beck. Scribes Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke penned the script as an origin tale that also has Mark Strong starring as the film’s principal villain, and with Toronto serving as the film’s Philidelphia, Pennsylvania backdrop. Previous rumors have stirred about as to whether or not executive producer Dwayne Johnson will make his appearance in the long held role of Black Adam for which he is expected to shepherd his own movie. Sooner than the next Star Wars movie, news of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story co-star Jiang Wen’s latest return to the helm now sees Hidden Man emerging for a 2018 release. Adapted from Zhang Beihai’s own 1930s-set Wuxia novel and said to be the last installment of Jiang’s Bullets trilogy, the finale tells of a swords who returns home as a spy to avenge the death of his family. The teaser now running online is certainly brisk and slickly delivered for its desired affect and bet that action fans will gravitate around this one as soon as it releases in full with Eddie Peng and Liao Fan, and actresses Summer Xu and Zhou Yun also starring. The film itself has been a long time coming and available headlines indicates a casting change which should make this a bit more intriguing. Take a look!

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’ve about had it up to my forehead with all the debate and furor surrounding anything Star Wars. Though they share deservedly devout meaning and love from fans, the furor behind the fandom can be invariably exasperating most days as much as they’re just film’s – indeed, in all simplicity, they really are just movies. Love them or hate them. With Solo: A Star Wars Story, fans will undoubtedly get to weigh the pendulum come the film’s arrival on May 25. I know I’m still not completely behind the casting of Alden Ehrenrich in the title role but I’m not about to start a full-on petition to have Disney reshoot the movie scene-for-scene with Anthony Ingruber instead.
