Stephan Campanelli is well on the way for an October release of his feature film directorial debut, Momentum, which presents a stylish little gem for fans of female-centric action and thrills at the cinema. Olga Kurylenlo stars in this one, and its a film that definitely lets her strech a few more muscles, which I’m always for, although when it comes to the applied formula here, it certainly feels like more of the same in some aspects. Kurylenko stars as Alex, the leader of a team during a botched robbery which exposes her identity. Actor Taron Egerton is currently on deck to film indie crime bio, Crooks County later this year into next year. In the meantime, the actor has finally scheduled shoots for two forthcoming roles following August. Egerton is officially stamped for the lead roles in his forthcoming return in Kingsman 2 for Fox prior to filming his upcoming role in Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: Origins. Both films were reportedly in contention following Egerton‘s casting for the title role in the latter film, but this week’s report from THR solidifies things as Kingsman 2 squares away with an April start date next year for a summer 2017 release from Fox. The martial arts genre can be a thrilling one when it comes to movies. However, spectacle aside, every now and then it helps to get grounded a little more in what the overall practice of it really means, and we’ve seen that narrative several times in the past through different tones. This time, we get martial arts stars Don “The Dragon” Wilson and Cynthia Rothrock as they spearhead this newest effort in director Michael Baumgarten’s new movie, The Martial Arts Kid. In what might be an otherwise striking development since last week, Deadline is now reporting that actress Charlize Theron is, indeed, in talks to lead the upcoming action thriller, The Grey Man. The Aeon Flux star was initially reported for a role though it wasn’t clear if she were to star with someone else leading the film or not, while this particular update be not so surprising in an era where genderswapping roles have proven useful in bringing variety, flexibility and growth to certain productions. The film has a script by Captain America: Civil War helmers Joe and Anthony Russo, based on the 2009 novel from Mark Greaney which centers on Court Gentry, a legendary covert assassin working for the CIA until he is set up by the very people who now see him obsolete. Last week was another busy one, so there were definitely about one or two surprises that came about while researching for this week’s Hit List, especially in the wake of New York Comic-Con… …However, those can wait. THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS Gets A Full Trailer Ahead Of Its Netflix Premiere

With Netflix as the dominating force for nearly all things entertaining as of late, the new trailer is now online for the new animated series, The Seven Deadly Sins. The show comes following its established roots in Kodansha manga lore courtesy of author Suzuki Nabaka, here and now from producers at Japanese animation studio A-1 Pictures Inc. When a kingdom is taken over by tyrants, the deposed princess begins a quest to find a disbanded group of evil knights to help take back her realm. Having sold 15 million copies of its literary prints is a pretty awesome achievement in and of itself next to its animated run overseas last year, and judging by the footage, it’s easy to see why. The series is one of three animated properties being taken under by Netflix in its momentum, and will also air on November 1. Watch the trailer right now!

This weekend offered a stellar showing of force from fans in the wake of the success of Netflix’s premiere series, Daredevil. Charlie Cox and the cast were all on hand to discuss the show as one of two programs put on display at New York Comic Con, while a leaked camera-shot teaser started going viral online. Vietnamese Action Comedy HÙNG ALI Teases A Suitcase Full Of Drugs, And A Bike Fight In The New Teaser

Whatever director Lâm Lê Dũng has in store, apparently it involves actor Ưng Hoàng Phúc in a role that enables him to see his way around a bike in tough situations. This pretty much encompasses the latest teaser for the new teaser for Hùng Ali, and while there’s nothing decipherable in English to help translate the narrative, the kudos should especially go out to the person designing the action for this one – clearly a Jackie Chan fan at best. The film opens on December 4 and a full trailer will likely make the rounds soon enough before then. In the meantime, check out the teaser below!

NYCC 2015: A T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents Movie Is Coming

At least one other major announcement stemming from the ruckus of events at New York Comic Con as of late is that of a new superhero movie venture now in development overseas. The film in question, T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, is another big move for China who are already part and party to a number of brewing comic book titles already, including Valiant Comics’s latest dealings with DMG. This time, it’s China’s biggest film conglomerate, Huayi Brothers who are also underway with an 18-film deal with STX Entertainment. Apart from this, Huayi will join Batman film franchise producer Michael Uslan in reportedly gathering for a live action franchise of said movie, based on the 1965 Tower publication with an acronymic title, which centers on a team of ordinary citizens who are gifted with high-tech equipment that grants them special powers to take on evil. Actress Yakushimaru Hiroko’s role in Sailor Suit And Machine Gun, Somai Shinji’s 1981 adaptation of Akagawa Jiro’s highly popular 1978 novel of a smiliar name, left a nice little piece of film history for fans at the time. The book itself sold about two million copies at the time as well and that says a lot about how beloved and well received a character like Hoshi Izumi is, and well enough to even follow up briefly on TBS in Japan in 2006. NYCC 2015: A Live-Action TIGER AND BUNNY Movie Is In The Works

Fans familiar with the popular sci-fi anime franchise, Tiger And Bunny, are getting a live-action feature film following last week’s events at New York Comic Con. Black Butler helmer Satou Keiichi directed the original anime which launched in 2011 and spawned a slate of manga publications, games and movies up to last year. Joined by representatives from All Nippon Entertainment Works’ and Imagine Entertainment, Sunrise and Namco Bandai Entertainment hosted a panel at NYCC announcing the film according to ANN, which, inspired by the anime, will takes place in Manhattan-inspired Stern Bild City, where super-powered beings dubbed NEXT (Noted Entities with eXtraordinary Talents) are not only heralded, but sponsored and commercialized on television. Gamera craze has taken over in the last several days since new proof footage was revealed at New York Comic Con. It’s nothing short of the result of momentum stemming from the popularity of the monster movie genre with films like last year’s Godzilla, this year’s Jurassic World, their respective sequels and further developments surrounding Skull Island and King Kong VS. Godzilla. You can thank Japan in that regard as they’ve already got quite a bit underway with Attack On Titan helmer Higuchi Shinji’s own take on Godzilla now filming more than half a century since its inception. Seth Grahame-Smith is about to make his directorial debut with Warner Bros. for the upcoming DC adaptation of The Flash. Bear this in mind with the fact that he did something quite incredible as author of successful books like the 2010 Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter which eventually saw its way to a 2012 big screen take. Prior to that, his 2009 publication, Pride And Prejudice And Zombie, surfaced and went right into full film development that year. Reboots and remakes know no boundaries, and it couldn’t be truer for director Frédéric Jardin’s 2011 French flick, Nuit Blanche – a story of dirty cops, misplaced drugs, kidnapping and much more. It evidently became a point of inspiration for actor Kamal Haasan who has since turned in his own script in Tamil and Telugu and starred in what looks like another action-packed headliner for Indian audiences now in the form of Thoongaavanam. The film is directed by Rajesh M. Selva for Raaj Kamal Films International and Sri Gokulam Movies, and a release date is pending next month for local audiences. AMC TV has unveiled a slew of new images ahead of the forthcoming series premiere, Into The Badlands. The show premieres on November 15 in accordance with the start of AMC Fightfest two weeks earlier, making next month a great time to be a martial arts fan! Into the Badlands is set centuries from now, where a feudal society has emerged and the strongest and most brutal rose to wealth and power. UNDERWORLD: NEXT GENERATION Is Now Filming In Prague

Well, it took about three years but production is finally underway in Prague for Anna Foerster’s new installment of the Underworld franchise. Underworld: Next Generation is the name of the film with Kate Beckinsale and Theo James set to reprise their old roles from a franchise centered on stories of warring vampires and werewolves, and the politics therin among both sides. Lara Pulver, Clementine Nicholson and Bradley Davis round out the current cast while later details await to materialize following the film’s announcement back in May. Suffice it to say if you’ve been waiting for Beckinsale to break out the artillery once more, your wish has come true.
