It was back in July in 2013 that two memorable action classics starring legendary superstar Jean Claude Van Damme, Bloodsport and Kickboxer were each finally announced to be remade with their own directors, with the latter to be helmed by Tai Chi 0 director, multifaceted actor and producer Stephen Fung. On Monday, almost a year later, official news finally confirmed from Cannes announcing actor, stuntman and martial artist Alain Moussi (pictured left) will be taking the lead in Fung‘s new film. The actor most recently did stuntwork on Camille Delamarre’s directorial debut remaking the 2004 action thriller, District B13 in last month’s release of Brick Mansions, in addition to working on films such as Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 techno monster thriller Pacific Rim, and the upcoming release of filmmaker David Hayter’s own directorial debut, Wolves with Lucas Till and Jason Momoa. Action actor and three-year stunt professional Vic Winters Junco has a pretty good foothold of just how strong stuntwoman and actress Amy Sturdivant is. He’s the guy in the aforementioned hat getting tackled at the top of their latest test fight sketch courtesy of independent filmmaker, fellow stuntman and choreographer Bryan Sloyer, who has been pretty steady this year so far with a good handful of test fights on his YouTube channel. LBP Stunts Chicago Presents: KARATE BOYS Vs. THE WORLD

From L to R (background): Tony Vittorioso, Alexander Hashioka and Nate Hitpas take direction from Emmanuel Manzanares (center/front) Going into the weekend, we have a outstanding amalgam of talent that once more sees LBP Stunt Chicago’s own Emmanuel Manzanares back behind the camera for his latest skit, Karate Bros. vs. The World. This one is one of the slightly more spectacular ones with a little bit of VFX near the end, which is different from a lot of the short test fights we see from this group. Not to mention tricking impressario Micah Karns does a neat little stunt that was edited just nicely in the second half to give the fight that extra edge. Fellow LBP members Alexander Hashioka and Nate Hitpas, with fellow tricker and martial artist Tony Vittorioso also perform.

Following last year’s successful crowdfunding of independent filmmaker Zack Drisko‘s mini online webseries, Ava Snow Battles Death, the series is now online, with three episodes with the third being an interactive “Choose Your Adventure” style episode. From a critical standpoint, there’s not much action as the episodes are more dramatic and comedic in nature with a character who looks built tough and can handle herself in any situation, and I would personally love to see this little story go deeper. Thankfully, Drisko and actress Arielle Davidsohn are working on doing just that, with the current process of writing a much more comprehensive script to suit the needs for a hopeful feature project.
