Corridor Digital Presents: SHADOW OF MORDOR Fan Film

Lee B. Golden III

Invariably, to describe the journey taken by director Peter Jackson in paving the way for J.R.R. Tolkien’s cinematic universe for The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit trilogies as something “epic” almost doesn’t do it any justice. It’s been nearly two decades since Jackson took the necessary steps to bring the books to life, and the franchise has already built itself a humongous following in time for the theatrical finale, The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, this December. Of course, the franchise has its own video games as well, one which goes public later this month in the form of Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor from Warner Bros. Interactive. With that in mind, pan over to writing/directing duo Sam Gorski and Nico Pueringer, otherwise known as Corridor Digital, infamous for adhering to video game lore through the magic of film. The two just released their own inspired […]

The New Frank Martin Is Action-Ready In The First Official Photo From THE TRANSPORTER LEGACY

Lee B. Golden III

There’s still plenty of time to speculate ahead of the March 6, 2015 release of the action-packed origin-centered thriller, The Transporter Legacy. It is the first step into a new trilogy with a new lead actor in the form of former Game Of Thrones co-star, actor Ed Skrein now taking the reigns of franchise character, Frank Martin, played previously by the incomparable Jason Statham, and of course, the fans will no doubt be critical. The film is the second remake effort from Brick Mansions helmer Camille Delamarre, focusing on Martin’s earlier years as a self-employed transporter-for-hire for any and all who could afford him, as well as abide by three main rules. What’s interesting here is that despite taking an origin-oriented approach, the story here will evidently see the character Martin, already in his element (somewhat indicated by previous set footage), which indicates that the new franchise won’t be straying […]

This Is How PeiPei Yuan Wins At A Game Of Pool. Your Argument Is Invalid.

Lee B. Golden III

Actress and stuntwoman PeiPei Yuan doesn’t need a pool cue to get in the game. Nope, every now and then, she will even use her arsenal of fists and feet…and a hammer. Maybe a hammer too. Good times! I’ve written about Yuan several times before and her work is as astounding as her versatility, and she exemplifies these in several new videos that are now up for viewing, including this little mini gem as of Friday. The one below is just a minute longer, which, of course, means a pretty badass test fight worth glancing at. Featured performers include Yuan along with Jimmy Chhiu, Alvin Hsing and choreographer Mario Perez. Take a looksy, and remember to subscribe to her Facebook fan page.

A Killer Legend Returns In The New Trailer For JOHN WICK

A Killer Legend Returns In The New Trailer For JOHN WICK

Lee B. Golden III

There’s something to be said about stuntmen who become directors. Some results fare better than others, and there’s an up-tick in the trend nowadays, particularly in Hollywood where veteran stuntmen David Leitch and Chad Stahelski are daring to put their first foot forward with their newest debut, John Wick. From a script by Derek Kolstad, Keanu Reeves stars as the film’s title lead in a revenge-driven epic that sees him going back to the world he once left in order to seek his own brand of justice. The film is also one of Reeves latest maneuvers in the action genre, and one well-suited enough for him since Leitch and Stahelski are the ones who run things at Hollywood’s top stunt gym, 87 Eleven, the same company that collaborated with Yuen Woo-Ping and his team for The Matrix Trilogy (2000-2003) and Man Of Tai Chi (2013) to name a few. Lee B. Golden III

Thomas Hacikoglu on the set of THE EGO (2012), Photo: HACI-STUNT Tomorrow, German action star Mike Moeller will be attending a star-studded premiere for his latest martial arts thrill ride, One Million K(L)icks. At least this week though, it comes to mind for its co-star, fellow German stunt impressario and Moeller cohort, Thomas Hacikoglu who still happens to be earning accolades for his craft for director Oliver Juhrs‘s 2012 shortfilm, The Ego, a story about a disenfranchised assassin internally conflicted about his approach to his new kill assignment. There are some pretty big stunts in this one by Hacikoglu opposite actor and stuntman Alois Knapps, and even the 2014 Awards For The German Academy Of Television took notice. And considering Juhrs co-directed Moeller’s new film, I say it’s a hell of a way to kickstart an awesome weekend movie premiere! Good luck to you all over there guys! Watch The […]

A Young Hero's Story Lives On In The New Trailer For THE DEAD LANDS

Lee B. Golden III

It’s not enough to say that the next biggest fan craze in action cinema will be director Toa Fraser‘s new period action epic, The Dead Lands. The reviews are already pouring in and the anticipation building following its run at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival to see what the film has to offer in presenting just what raw, hard-hitting Maori martial arts choreography looks like as one of the principle elements in Glenn Standring’s epic story of revenge and redemption layered in vast Maori culture. Actors James Rolleston, Lawrence Makore and Te Kohe Tuhaka, and actress Rena Owen star in what appears to be an exciting new film for the niche, and this week, a full trailer has finally arrived following this summer’s teaser. SYNOPSIS: After his tribe is slaughtered through an act of treachery, Hongi – a Maori chieftan’s teenage son – must avenge his father’s murder in […]

One night a young woman looking for a flame for her drugs and a pillow for her head changes his whole universe. Directed and produced by Robin Schmidt, Dog is a collaboration between the team and indie film production company, Supermassive, and was originally a two-part music video featuring hip-hop artist Dream McClean before it became a collective effort to build a larger shortfilm narrative following a successful Indiegogo funding run last […]
