It was earlier this week that the first official teaser trailer for Blood Letter helmer Victor Vu’s new action movie, Loi Bao, released online, and much to the delight of action fans instinctive enough to catch on. Funimation Films Licenses Live-Action BLACK BUTLER For DVD And Blu-Ray Release!

Three years since the release of Warner Bros. Japan’s live-action adaptation, Black Butler, U.S. anime staple Funimation has announced the film as its latest acquisition for a May 2 release on Blu-Ray and DVD. Kentaro Otani and Keiichi Satou directed the film hailing from its roots at Square Enix from Yana Toboso’s 2006 manga publication. Richie Keen Lands PARTNERS His Next Project Warner Bros

New Line (Source) On the eve of his forthcoming directorial debut comedy, Fist Fight, director Richie Keen is poised for his latest comedic endeavor, Partners, for Warner Bros. Pictures. Deadline reports Keen will direct from a script Sam Pitman and Adam Cole-Kelly following Evan Turner’s first draft. The film will reportedly center on an LAPD detective whose trist with a beautiful woman leads him to learn of her FBI credentials amid his new boss’s high profile case. Keen’s Fist Fight has been hitting hard on the presses this year thusfar ahead of its release this weekend with reviews already in tow. Action Spec Script, RUTHLESS Lands Brad Petyon To Direct For Amblin

San Andreas helmer Brad Peyton is well on his way with several projects, one of which now includes the female-driven action thriller, Ruthless from scribe John Swetnam. Deadline reports that the film has since landed at Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners in the wake of the company’s latest investment by Universal Filmed Entertainment earlier this week joining Participant Media, Reliance Entertainment, eOne and Alibaba Pictures. Names of actresses are tentatively being considered off-radar for the lead role of the Swetnam’s script, which, while primed with its share of twists, sees a legendary assassin diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and forced back into her former life for one last job to secure her daughter’s future. TRIPLE FRONTIER: Ali, Hardy And Tatum To Star For Paramount Action Thriller

Actor Tom Hardy has some good news happening on the film front in various reports, one such including Deadline‘s latest piece on upcoming action thriller, Triple Frontier. SAG Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali (Luke Cage, Moonlight) will be joining Hardy for Paramount Pictures, as will actor Channing Tatum once confirmed. A Most Violent Year helmer J.C. Chandor is set to direct the film. Plot details are nil but the word is the film will focus on unstable criminal activities along junctioning rivers at the border between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Producing are Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment along with the film’s screenwriter, Mark Boal. Ali also stars in Robert Rodriguez’s current production of Alita: Battle Angel and director Michael Larnell’s Roxanne Roxanne which premiered at Sundance in January.

After garnering praise for her most recent work on The Zookeeper’s Wife starring Jessica Chastain, McFarlane, USA helmer Niki Caro is reportedly being eyed to direct Disney’s own upcoming live-action Mulan film.
