It’s taken all of this year for things to finally align for Tsuburaya Productions and Toho as the two companies worked to further mitigate the hampering conditions of the on-going pandemic. Invariably though, Shin Ultraman is finally coming as announced on Monday during the Tsuburaya Convention 2021 special program with two pairs of updated posters and teasers – one of the latter which you can view above showcasing our titular hero. RRR Teaser Signals The Latest Post-Pandemic Janaury 2022 Epic From S.S. Rajamouli

It’s been well over three years since the wheels began turning for the production of director S.S. Rajamouli’s latest major film effort, RRR. The famed Baahubali helmer crafted the film with screenwriter K. V. Vijayendra Prasad for a cast led by actors N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan with plans initially to release the film last summer only to realize its forthwith battle with a lingering pandemic that infamously put the global film industry at a standstill. Thankfully though, production has stood the test of time and has since contended with the hurdles it needed to, with Lyca Productions stamping a January 7, 2022 release date to its current promotional campaign which now includes a fully-fledged and brief teaser trailer to sample some of Rajamouli’s epic 1920-set revolutionary tale. Currently making the festival rounds is horror franchise continuation, Wyrmwood: Apocalypse from Kiah Roache-Turner and Tristan Roache-Turner. Arclight is repping the film internationally just as an official teaser has since begun making the rounds ahead of its Brisbane premiere this weekend. A sequel to the 2015 cult hit Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, Wyrmwood: Apocalypse is post- apocalyptic zombie film that follows soldier Rhys on an arc of redemption as he turns against his evil bosses and joins forces with a group of rebel survivors to help rescue a girl who might hold the cure to the virus. A sci-fi, action, horror film packed with zombies. The film also has a bit of key art which you can view below courtesy of creator Jefferton James. Jiwoo joins a drug cartel and becomes a mole in the police force to seek the truth behind her father’s death. She encounters harsh truths in the course of carrying out her revenge. Premiering Out Of Competition at Cannes next week is The King helmer Han Jae-rim’s newest thriller, Emergency Declaration. The latest international teaser trailer is making the rounds from the reps at Showbox, with actors Song Kang-ho (Parasite) and Lee Byung-hun (Ashfall) top-billed to head the story of passengers aboard a plane forced to declare an emergency when an unprecedented terror occurs in flight. That’s pretty much it for the logline too, and the rest is up to what you can gather from the footage being offered, on top of the poster which you can view below. There’s unrest, upheaval and the constant threat of imminent danger that lends a lot to pick apart here. Acquisition news remains pending so don’t wait up too long, but keep this one on radar for sure.

Instant Swamp and It’s Me, It’s Me director Satoshi Miki’s got a hell of a tease for you all out there lovin’ your monster moviefare and whatnot. There’s yet to be an English title but feel free to bookmark Daikaijyu no Atoshimatsu going forward as it stays the course for a 2022 release starring Ryosuke Yamada (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Tao Tsuchiya (Rurouni Kenshin saga). A co-prod between Shochiku and Toei, both actors play ex-fiancees to one-another – specialists in their field who are assigned to the charge of a monster that attacks Japan and suddenly dies, only to ensue the looming threat of the country’s collapse stemming from a potential gas explosion from where the monster’s carcass lays.
