GRACE UNDER FIRE: An Interview With Actor, Stuntman And Producer, Sonny Sison
Last week, I had the opportunity to share a dialogue with Sison about the film among several others within the span of his career in the past two decades. Having cut his teeth as an actor and stuntman over the years, primarily as a suit actor on the AmeriToku crossover series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and having recently worked with a number of familiar faces fans know and love, I would say there’s plenty of reason to bookmark him as someone worth looking out for in the months ahead.
Olivier Gruner Goes BEYOND THE GAME In The Latest Trailer
If you happen to be noticing a resurgence of B-movie action cinema fandom as of late, no, it’s not all in your head. This is real, and there are several examples out there with titles as far back as 2010 with the release of Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables, and more and more of these films have been rolling out in some capacity ever since.
Clearly the niche hasn’t disappeared long since the 90’s era of B-movie action cinema glory took hold, and its clearly one that Blizhniy Boy (2007) trio, director Erken Lalgashev and writers J. Stephen Maunder and David Mitchell share a lineage in, as well as a shared interest as so expressed in their latest contribution, Beyond The Game. There aren’t any plot details, but the cast itself is littered with a who’s-who of action veterans with actor and martial artist Olivier Gruner as a psychologically-cracked solider in kill mode who becomes the subject of a survivalist reality show that goes all sorts of wrong, and you can pretty guess where it goes from there.
Save for its likely small-screen delivery, this one is definitely for the audience for whom it is intended. Make note of the names and faces in the trailer and behind-the-scenes featurette below and let the nostagia kick you in the face just once more!

Van Dien Leads The Action In RELENTLESS; Dacascos In Talks
Time will tell if whether or not previous reports will forsee the return of actors Casper Van Dien and Mark Dacascos to the Mortal Kombat Legacy arena for a third outing. In the meantime, we now have news of their involvement on a new project from Greenlight Films, Emerald Films and Riucci Films, Relentless.
According to Twitchfilm, Van Dien will lead as Charlie LaFarge, a former US Army Ranger on the run from the law and resigned to vengeance after being unwittingly swept into a feud between warring Russian and Thai drug traffickers, ensuing the theft of his boat, the brutal murder of his mentor, the kidnapping of his girlfriend and the malfeasance of a crooked DEA agent. Dacascos, whose slate has been loading up with various potential projects like Blood Raid and Baf Sjamsuddin’s Garuda 7 is currently in talks to join the production under Dark Power helmer John Milton Branton with a script by retired ATF agent, awarded author & journalist and House Of The Rising Sun scribe Chuck Hustmyre, and fight choreography by Tekken 2: Kazuya’s Revenge action director Brahim Achabbakhe.

Mark Dacascos Is The Lead In ULTIMATE JUSTICE!
Hot off the heels of the World Premiere of German action star Mike Moeller‘s latest epic martial arts drama, One Million K(L)icks, production company Silent Partners is only a handful of days away from filming its second property in the form of another new martial arts action thriller, Ultimate Justice. A full cast and crew listing can be expected for an announcement soon, but Silent Partners’ own producer Mike Leeder has already taken to the film’s Facebook group to officially announce the lead star of the film in the form of action star Mark Dacascos (Drive, China Strike Force, Hawaii Five-0).
Dacascos has already been making a few headlines as of late pertaining to previous reports of a third season of Mortal Kombat Legacy with reportedly returning actor Casper Van Dien and director Kevin Tancharoen back at the helm. Dacascos‘s IMDb page also presents a listing of several other movies that have been spoken about in earlier reports, mainly the forthcoming production of Garuda 7, Indonesia’s answer to The Expendables. As to just exactly in what order these projects will happen is not yet known.
No word has yet been officially offered if Moeller will be on board again. Although needless to say that after One Million K(L)icks, if you have been looking forward to a Dacascos lead martial arts spectacle, Ultimate Justice may very well bring the action full force!
Ultimate Justice will commense filming in late September. Stay tuned for more info and immediate updates as they arrive after this report.

BALLISTIC CINEMATHEQUE: A Word With Wych Kaosayananda
Filmmaker Wych Kaosayananda is a clear case study in resilience. His big break into Hollywood with the 2002 action thriller, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, didn’t pan out the way he hoped for a number of reasons. And before most of us knew it, despite the many studio offers he received, Kaosayananda diverged away from Hollywood for a really long time, which is probably why you might be wondering just what happened after all this time.

Don “The Dragon” Wilson To Reunite Action Stars Of 80's And 90's Past In THE B-TEAM
“I spoke to Michael Dudikoff about working together on a project titled ‘The B Team’. He seemed very positive and I’d love to work with him since we’ve known each other for years and have even worked for the same directors and producers but never in the same film.
