I have had a great time promoting and discussing geniune martial artist and XMA purveyor, actor, stuntman and Thousand Pounds action director and performer Brendon Huor since launching my Facebook page in late 2012. The January airing of the official dual episode trailer for the Chris Cowan and Haile Lee-directed martial arts fantasy series, Clandestine, drew humongous resolve for fans who have been long patient for this inspired new series to finally see some movement. And as for official dates, nothing yet has been confirmed as Cowan and Lee, co-founding members of Thousand Pounds Action Company and the creators of the series were since in the middle of grant their independent project the full potential of a mainstream television series. Darren Bailey To Make His Directorial Debut In The Upcoming Shortfilm, SURGE

It seems Canadian independent action star Tyler Williams is making pretty good use of his time out in California this year with actor and up-and-coming filmmaker Darren Bailey (pictured left). On top of collaborating with actors Gui DaSilva and independent filmmaker Emmanuel Manzanares on Extraction, in addition to the long-awaited release of Right-Handed, Williams also spent his time with Bailey, who is currently directing and starring in their upcoming short film release, Surge. The work is entirely original, and conceived out of Bailey’s partnership with VFX artist Marcus Silvera, who currently shares employ with Bailey at Stereo D, an award-winning visual effects movie lab in Burbank, California that was co-created by actor Giovanni Ribisi during the production of Avatar (2009). Actress Hailey Bright Delivers Justice In The New Shortfilm, FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Need anymore proof that the independent filmmaking industry is upping its game? You need not look further than the latest shortfilm from the folks at Intelligent Artists and indie filmmaker Leo Kei Angelos titled First Impressions, produced and co-written by George H. Ruiz. The project began earlier this year with the stunt professionals over at Thousand Pounds Action Company training lead actress and YouTube personality, Hailey Bright. I initially wanted to tease some of this earlier on, but unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to as things were still developing. Last year, filmmakers Chris Cowan and Haile Lee were joined by a cast of martial arts stunt actors to host a successful Kickstarter fundraiser for their bold new epic martial arts action series from Thousand Pounds Action Company, Clandestine Path, a story about feudal martial arts clan warfare in a modern-day setting.
