Touchstone Pictures Another headlining rematch is on deck for Wilson Yip’s Ip Man 4 with Jackie Chan apparently set to appear opposite star Donnie Yen. This little detail, by way of a report on Wednesday at Jaynestars cites local news sources, confirms that filming has wrapped for the fourth installment in which Chan will play a respected Chinatown Big Brother amid the story setting that lands our title hero in the U.S. alongside martial arts progeny Bruce Lee. Yen and Chan have shared the screen together a few times in Shanghai Knights (2003) and The Twins Effect 2 (a.k.a. Blade Of Kings) (2004). TMNT Is Getting Another Reboot At Paramount, Platinum Dunes

Paramount Screenwriter Andrew Dodge (Bad Words) has reportedly been hired to pen the script for a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles induction for Paramount. As Borys Kit notes over at The Hollywood Reporter, the move comes in the wake of Jim Gianopulos’s arrival as chairman and CEO prior to his recent-stated commitment to reviving the studio’s franchise potency. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce the reboot via Platinum Dunes, taking cues once more from the cult classic 1984 comic IP created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, telling of four turtles accidentally mutated into full-grown ninjas of legend, trained under the tutelage of wise mutant rat, Master Splinter. Malaysian action star, actor and filmmaker Michael Chuah has fascinated me for quite sometime now. I’m a little late since he emerged with Fist Of Dragon in 2011 but he’s stayed mobile with a few acting gigs apart from directing, including 2013 pic Firefly, Special Forces in 2016 and having recently completed Call Me Agent last month; Chuah was also a candidate for a possible transition to American soil with a lead role in Mark V. Wiley’s script for martial arts mob comedy Made In Chinatown during the early stages of development. Principal photography has reportedly been completed in Los Angeles for new limited digital series, FraXtur. Screenwriter Zack Ward and director, Emmy-winning producer Christopher Douglas-Olen Ray (Circus Kane) co-created the series which hails from Burbank-based DEINSTITUTIONALIZED LLC, LANY Entertainment and END OF THE ROSE LLC. “FraXtur” chronicles a ragtag, millennial, breakfast club thrust into a post apocalyptic wasteland. Notable Kung Fu Hustle producer Jeff Lau has since entered the fray with his next directorial feat, Kung Fu League. Victor Vu’s THE IMMORTAL Teases A Foreboding Tale Of Timeless Mystery In The First Trailer

Fantasia will be the next festival highlight for Vietnamese director Victor Vu’s recent hit, Loi Bao starring Cuong Seven in July. In the meantime, the wait now settles through October for the release of Vu’s The Immortal which now has a first trailer to show for its efforts reuniting Vu with core Loi Bao crew members, action director Vincent Wang and action producer Jason Ninh Cao. Thankfully you can largely divulge as much of the plot as you wish from the subtitles which gives this an impression as something of a supernatural period epic with some shots hinting at an early 20th century setting. Loi Bao antagonist, actor Quach Ngọc Quan takes the mantle in the lead role this time around joining the aforementioned Seven actress Dinh Ngọc Diep and fellow Lôi Bao co-star Vũ Tuấn Việt. OPERATION WILD To Pit Chinese And Indian Talent Together For Renny Harlin’s Large Scale Action Adventure

Director Renny Harlin will helm Operation Wild, according to Patrick Frater at Variety detailing a new three-film co-development deal made during events over at the Shanghai International Film Festival. The deal was made between leading Indian entertainment company, B4U, and Extraordinary Entertainment, Harlin’s shared production banner with Kung Fu Yoga producer DJ Parmar. Brian Brightly is penning Operation Wild which is described as a large-scale action adventure centered on “two elite combat warriors from China and India who lead covert forces to shut down a global wildlife-poaching criminal organization.” Casting details are unknown while the report does suggest prominent Chinese and Indian actors will be brought aboard. “These films will highlight the emotional bond and cultural values that are common between the people of China and India,” said B4U CEO Ishan Saksena.  “The enormous success of co-production films like ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ and other Indian films has helped pave the way for Indian content in China. To date, I actually held hopes that Soi Cheang would be able to live out a live-action quadrilogy for his take on Wu Cheng’en’s classic tale of The Monkey King.
