Hopefully all of the glowing reviews published online (including mine) and the overall box-office success of Antoine Fuqua’s 2014 hit, The Equalizer, garnered enough reason for you to at least see it on disc or VOD by now. It’s one of the best action films in recent memory next to John Wick and led by Denzel Washington, a stellar actor with just the right amount of gravitas to give the main character the cinematic boost it needed on the big screen as it did then on television starring Edward Woodward. Surely enough the film finally greenlit the sequel back in April, which probably wasn’t much of a surprise for those who were able to attend test screenings for the film, and with delightful results to boot. Cung Le Debuts The First Official Art For Upcoming Short, CODENAME: THE DRAGON!

In the course of the past year or so, fans of MMA star, actor and martial artist Cung Le have been keen on certain posts relevant to Le‘s Hashtag, #CodenameTheDragon. On Thursday and ahead of events taking place at SF Movie Fest in August, Le posted the first piece of official artwork on his Facebook fanpage for the short which currently has a feature in the works and its accompanying script complete. Things Get Messy In The New Trailer For THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.!

Aside from no longer starring in his recent efforts toward British SAS thriller, Stratton, standing the test of time on the big screen outside of the blue and red Superman outfit shouldn’t be too difficult for actor Henry Cavill. He’s got the fanbase he needs ahead of the upcoming Guy Ritchie-directed The Man From U.N.C.L.E. whereupon he’s primarily front and center and joined by actor Armie Hammer who could probably use the recovery after his last stint in The Lone Ranger. The film also services quite well as an adaptation of the classic TV series, coupled with its overall interest in a mix of espionage and suspense with a dash of international comedic wit and some sexual innuendo to boot. Media: SPL 2: A TIME FOR CONSEQUENCES Is As Good As You Might Have Been Hoping!

The word is out following the most recent red carpet galas in Hong Kong and Macau for director Soi Cheang‘s SPL 2: A Time For Consequences, and the buzz is all kinds of upworthy this week. The film appears to be nothing short of a proud successor to SPL in 2005 and lends a certain nod to the advancement of its lead stars, including that of lead actor Wu Jing who portrayed an alternative role opposite then-star Donnie Yen in the first film. Coming into writer and director Jesse V. Johnson‘s latest movie, The Beautiful Ones, the earlier trailers hinted at something quite artful and unique in a way. Writer Marco J. Ramirez will be stepping in with Doug Petrie to carry on the story for Netflix’s Daredevil series upon its forthcoming second season. Photo: Miyazaki Yoshimasa Writer and director Yamakita Ryuji‘s newest directorial feature debut, Bond:Kizuna is still in production, and it was a couple of months back that a teaser went viral. A new version of that teaser soon removed the old one but an official trailer has since begun circulating as of a few weeks ago, and it’s a movie that’s pretty small in scale but still promises some good storytelling to accommodate curious eyes – a story that builds from a Yakuza killing into a sprawling, interconnected tale of love, murder and intrigue.
